We are currently involved with a project where it is obvious that the whole system is lacking in good ventilation flows, a problem that is often overlooked. AIrflow through a system is important in more ways than one:

• Air flow allows the system to dry out the slime and moisture laden wastes that are often the cause of odour and the very gas that seems to be causing “PVC Cancer”
• When some wastes accumulate in a soggy mess they also accumulate other soggy waste, If the venting allows these soggy lumps to dry the changing shape and weight will allow the next major flow to easily move them along a well laid drain.
• Grease arrestors are notorious as to the buildup of gases and often the gas is “belched” out sending the odorous gas out in a burst where it often, being heavier than air noticed by public, although they are often not aware of where it comes from it can be easily trapped in a doorway , entry or a window, We know of a situation where the gas travelled around a lee wall some 80 metres to where it was drawn into the Air Conditioning inlet.
•  In many cases the need to have a mesh to prevent the flies from entering the standard vent caps are already compromised as to the flow, we have designed the Hi Flo vent to have an area of >50,000 mm2 of air flow through a stainless mesh capturing the natural air flow from 360 degrees to move the odours continuously
